Remove all of your makeup and sunscreen in the evening so that the skin has time to mend and regenerate itself.
Using every new product that enters the market is not what skincare is all about. Instead, it involves being aware of your skin’s needs, treating it with the respect it merits, and taking care of it both during the day and at night. Yes, this is true, as opposed to skincare products designed for a bedtime routine, which assist repair skin cells to promote rapid healing. Daytime skincare products are designed to hydrate and protect the skin from external stressors.
The most typical skin care errors include:
- Using far too many remedies in one routine by layering
- Applying eyeliner by yanking on your eyelids
- Disregarding one’s body
- Disregarding the neck
- Exfoliating too much
- Leaving makeup on while sleeping and not wearing SPF
- Not hydrating
Do not Moisturize
Individuals with oily skin might believe skipping the moisturiser is preferable since, after all, who wants their skin to seem even oilier?
In actuality, oily skin also requires moisture! Skin tends to overproduce more oil to make up for dryness.
Finding the ideal moisturiser for you is the secret. Go for a water-based, lightweight moisturiser if your skin is greasy. It may be difficult to locate a moisturiser that isn’t too heavy on the skin if you have acne, but try your best.
Dressing up and Sleeping
This is one of the major skin care errors that makeup wearers frequently make, as was already discussed.
You were prepared for this. Do not be alarmed; we have all been there. At the conclusion of a long day, the last thing on your mind is removing that dazzling highlight and glitter shadow. I concur.
Our skin is dry, our pores are now clogged, and we might even detect the beginnings of a breakout when we wake up because our mascara and eyeliner have combined into one entity and are smeared halfway down our faces.
Facial wipes also don’t count as cleansing. But, micellar solution, a modern-day miracle worker, is something I wish I had at those times in my life. Before you pass out, remove your makeup if you can access to a bottle of micellar water.
I don’t really know what to say to you if you’re just sleeping in your makeup because you feel like it other than STOP!
When your skin rebels and begins what I refer to as “The Cycle of Destruction,” you’ll regret it. We cause an outbreak, cover it up, aggravate it, and it leaves scars. This causes more damage to our skin the more we do it.
A routine of layering too many skincare products
You could believe that the more processes and products you use, the quicker the results would be. There comes a time when too much is present, and you risk causing greater harm.
Using skincare products containing AHA or BHA, retinol, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide, or other acids all at once can be a mistake because they all have a tendency to have irritant effects on their own.
When these kinds of substances are layered together, the products can become too potent for your skin, causing redness, irritation, and dried-out skin.
Give yourself a few days to recover after applying an exfoliating or treatment product, or just use 1-2 per routine. If you see signs of skin peeling and redness, cut it back!
Not using SPF
As sun damage is the primary cause of photo ageing, this is most likely the worst error of all!
Regardless of whether your makeup contains SPF, develop the practise of using one first.
You’re going to do it for the rest of your life, so get in the habit of doing it now. The sun is the most harmful thing there is. Nothing.
